Rising Tide – 2019 Week 42

Welcome back to Rising Tide, the weekly digest of things I’ve discovered or been into this past week and consider worth sharing. Enjoy!

1. Thank you, Lee Potts. With professional ties to the Great Lakes maritime industry as well as a personal connection as a nearly life-long resident living within 30 miles of one of the Great Lakes, this really resonates with me.

2. The Red Hand Files has been a unique little corner of the Internet discovery this past week. Musician Nick Cave has set up a way to have one-on-one conversations with fans. People can submit questions, and Nick himself responds. Topics range from music to life! Very intimate. Here’s some more background info.

Don’t know Nick Cave? Here’s a sample:

3. Vol. 1 Brooklyn is a unique site I stumbled upon that highlights interesting content such as short and long form writing, books, music, etc. They do some weekly posts and share quite a bit via their social media channel. A lot of great recommendations off the beaten path.

4. Here is a favorite from my personal collection. It’s a mellow, sweater weather compilation of tunes I have been compiling for the last couple of years. It is pretty perfectly tuned for this time of year, best played on shuffle.

5. And, last but never least, this week’s playlist:

And that’s it for this week! Until next time…
