Welcome back to Rising Tide, the weekly digest of things I’ve discovered or been into this past week and consider worth sharing. Enjoy!
1. This quote:
“Sit in a room and read—and read and read. And read the right books by the right people. Your mind is brought onto that level, and you have a nice, mild, slow-burning rapture all the time.”
– Joseph Campbell
2. This TED Talk:
I was in Chicago this week. One cannot help but admire the public transportation system of that city. This talk is amazing and puts a lot into perspective.
3. This poem: Jabberwocky is a poem by Lewis Carroll,
Beware, the Jabberwock!
Also found in his book, Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There, it’s an impressive nonsensical poem with made up language. I saw it mentioned in an article about artists’ favorite poems, and I haven’t been able to leave it alone. It almost feels like a riddle… trying to define some of the words, reading it a little faster, or understanding another stanza. It’s a fun read! Try it!
