Rising Tide – 2019 Week 23

Welcome back to Rising Tide, the weekly digest of things I’ve discovered or been into this past week and consider worth sharing. Enjoy!

1. This quote:

“An infinite question is often destroyed by finite answers. To define everything is to annihilate much that gives us laughter and joy.”

– Madeleine L’Engle, A Circle of Quiet

2. A History of the Influencer, from Shakespeare to Instagram. An interesting perspective on the evolution of influence, authenticity, control…

3. More search, less feed

“I find it so hard to keep tracking my obsessions, to stick to what I, myself, genuinely find interesting, to read what I WANT to read. But when I do, it feels like all is right with the universe.”

– Austin Kleon (@austinkleon) tweeted 6/4/2019

4. Happy Pride Month! Stonewall Forever – A Documentary about the Past, Present and Future of Pride is a short documentary worth your time.

5. In light of recent news that our county has passed a single use plastic bag ban, here are the best and worst replacements for the single-use plastic bag. (Hint: cotton bags are pretty much the worst!)

6. From biking, running, and yoga to sitting all day at work and narrow shoes…my feet hate me. YOGABODY’s Awesome Toes are probably the best purchase of the year. It takes a lot for me to endorse a produce. These have proven their worth over the last two weeks. Feet and legs feel amazing, stretches are deeper.

7. And here’s the playlist of the week:

That’s it for this week! Until next time…
