Welcome back to Rising Tide, the weekly digest of things I’ve discovered or been into this past week and consider worth sharing. Enjoy!
1. Greta Thunberg’s full speech to world leaders at UN Climate Action Summit:
2. I’ve been reflecting a lot on the advice to “Assume positive intent.”
Dig a little deeper with these interpretations:
- 3 Benefits In My Life From Assuming Positive Intent – Tom Blair
- VIDEO: Assume Positive Intent – Steven Covey (Franklin Covey)
3. September 25 is Shel Silverstein‘s birthday! There are so many good ones to choose from with advice for kids and adults alike!
Did you know… aside from his popular children’s books, he was also a playwright, a cartoonist for Playboy?!
AND a musician?! The following is a country music album he recorded called ”The Great Conch Train Robbery.”
He also wrote the Johnny Cash hit, ”A Boy Named Sue.” Who knew!?
4. I FINALLY got around to watching the Light in the Water documentary. It was playing at the Cleveland International Film Festival earlier this year, but I didn’t make it. But now it’s on Hulu! Great profiles, nice historical summary, interesting footage! In summary: EVERY. ONE. is welcome!
5. I haven’t had alcohol since July, I’ve gone two months without wearing make up, I wrote a list a day for 30 days, I’m writing a hand written letter and mailing it to a different friend every day… I got a book for Christmas last year and have really been taking it to heart the last couple of months. I feel challenged, mindful, accomplished. All of this and more inspired by 100 Life Challenges!
6. This Spotify playlist! So good!
7. And, as always, lastly, here is this week’s playlist:
That’s it for this week! Until next time…
